Mad Max Wasteland Weekend 2016

Mon Nov 14, 2016, 6:23 AM

MAD MAX WASTELAND WEEKEND

I'm proud to announce that I'll be part of the first ever MAD MAX WASTELAND WEEKEND celebration, coming up this Thanksgiving at the Gateway Film Center in Columbus, OH. Formerfactory and Upright Press are producing an exclusive limited-edition series of poster prints to accompany each of the 4 Mad Max films (Mad Max on Thursday the 24th; The Road Warrior on Friday the 25th; Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome on Saturday the 26th; and Mad Max: Fury Road on Sunday the 27th). The 3-color silkscreens will be available at the theatre, and online 30 days later through Formerfactory's BigCartel store. I'm hoping to be able to appear at the showing on Sunday to sign copies of my poster for Mad Max: Fury Road. I'll share the artwork here after Thanksgiving. If you're in the central Ohio area, don't miss this event! All films will be projected in honest-to-God 35mm, in one of the best theatres in the state.

As you may have seen, the print promotion was cancelled, but the films still screened as planned! Hopefully I'll be able to work on another at some point in the future.

INKTOBER 2016

Thanks everyone for all the likes, comments and support throughout the month of INKtober. The drawings themselves, along with my remaining 2015 drawings, will be up for sale through Storenvy once the book is complete, so if you're interested, watch this space for more information, or send me a note ahead of time to save me the listing hassle. I'm hoping to have it ready before the end of November. Now taking suggestions for 2017! :)

NEW COMICS

Earlier this year I completed the art for THE DEVOURING with writer Gary Scott Beatty. It's set to appear in the all-new horror series "STRANGE HORROR" from Aazurn Publishing. Watch for news about it in January!

I also provided some full-color art for an all-new story in Nix Comics Quarterly #9. It's written by comic-book know-it-all Christian Hoffer, with art and lettering by yours truly. It's available now at Nix Comics, and select retailers.

The newly-resurrected Caliber Comics has re-released my first installment of GHOST SONATA in the latest edition of CALIBER PRESENTS. It's available for order now. I'll also have my own artist feature section in Volume 4, coming soon; I'll provide a link when that one's available.

PULP

The collection of my 2015 InkTober efforts is available as a 36-page book simply titled "pulp". You can order it now through the CreateSpace store, and through Amazon.com. List price is $10.

I will also have copies with me for sale at all of my convention appearances, and your purchase will include a free quick sketch on the inside, as a bonus.

So if you'd like to see all of these illustrations in a lovely collected format, instead of the camera-phone WIP shots I posted here, click on through and order a copy for yourself! Thanks.

Fury Road
Unfortunately the project was officially killed, but this was to be my final design for a full-size 3-color screen print for the limited-edition Mad Max: Fury Road poster. Hopefully I'll be able to re-visit screen printing in the future.

It was drawn in fragments, and assembled in Photoshop.

18x24", ink on watercolor paper, digital.

Freddy is a comic book artist such as yourself. Different style (naturally). He often gets out to the big cons to meet and greet and *draw*!
No probs. I just thought you might have crossed paths.

Hello Andy B3nn3t,

I don't know if you missed my message on "Jinkies" (or as you would have pr3f3rred: "Jinkies!").

To sum up, I took a shine to it, downloaded it, and set about a colour treatment - which veered off into something more interesting after a while, as they do.*

I'm ludicrously pleased with the result, I want to post it (crediting your good self, of course!) and reap a heaping of praise from my millions of adoring fans.
As you do.

May I?
Thanking you for these 8 seconds of your precious time,
- Lookafar -

*(I've done similar with the works of other Deviants. My approval ratings remain high.)
