Lisbeth Salander.

Who was better: Noomi Rapace or Rooney Mara?

9x12", ink on watercolor paper, finished off with a tech pen.

She's for sale, if you want her - $75 + shipping.

Damn! That's just neat!
I think I love Noomi much more then Rooney's version...Don't ask me why. I've seen the American version first. But after that some parts of the Swedish. I liked them more.
Great job once again!

I think Noomi played the part with a lot less vulnerability than Rooney; she was a lot more steely and streetwise. But I couldn't say which was a better approach; I enjoyed them both quite a lot.

Thanks!

That's true. Noomi played her as a strong character, and when I read the books I do thought she could have done it a bit more vulnerable. But I think it's just an image I had in my head, and Noomi seemed to fit the best to it :?

Nice drawing! I still haven't gotten around to seeing this movie... No clue what it's even about... But anything Fincher does is worth looking at, far as I'm concerned. So eventually I'll probably just buy it and watch it, more out of curiosity to see what Fincher's up to, than any inkling of the story itself.

It's a pretty intense ride, really. On its surface, it's a pretty standard murder mystery, but it goes to a few really exceptionally dark places on the way. I can't get enough of Fincher's work these days. Just picked up the Alien anthology blu-ray box set, so I'm all set to watch Alien3 for the first time since about 1994...

I started the book and just wasn't hooked. I read a lot so sometimes I'm utterly confused about what gets popular and why. Maybe I should have stuck it out. I'll probably watch both films on Andy's recommendation, but I'm rooting for Fincher, he never really disappoints-just sometimes what you get is not what you expected (Aliens 3 and Panic Room.)

I haven't watched them yet. Which version did you prefer? Which should I watch first?

nice work as always by the way

Thanks Steve. That's a hard question to answer; but honestly, I don't think there is a "best" version. I have never picked up the book myself, so the films are all I know, much like "Let The Right One In" and "Let Me In" from a few years back (both of those were equally excellent, too). I watched the Swedish version first, but found that I enjoyed Fincher's version every bit as much as the foreign one.

I cannot recommend the Swedish sequels, though, as I thought they really lost the steam built up by the first movie. So unless you find yourself inexorably drawn to finish the series, stop after volume 1.
