By far the most bizarre request EVER.
My friend Dan Frazier is a Marvel JUNKIE. I've done several commissions for him in the past, but he's always let me choose the subject. I choose off-the-wall stuff, because my style doesn't suit capes; at least, I don't think so. But this time, he specifically requested THE CHAMPIONS. Really... the CHAMPIONS. For those of you who aren't COMPLETE geeks, The Champions were a short-lived super-team in the 70's, comprised of Hercules (a God and an Avenger), The Black Widow (A Russian super-spy Femme Fatale), Iceman and the Angel (not cool enough for the X-Men anymore) and Ghost Rider (?!).
Whose bright idea was it to throw this pastiche together, anyway?
Well, regardless, here they are. This is a HUGE piece (18x24"), and the image is a photo from my digicam, so it blows. India ink on Bristol board. Enjoy!
