Sketch - Mysterio by B3NN3TT Sketch - Mysterio by B3NN3TT
Another sketch from Mid-Ohio Con.

This is a sketch in a sketchbook - as I've said, not my favourite surface to work on. But I like the idea of having art in a book with lots of other sweet pieces, so I cave. Every time.

This is Mysterio! Some of the first Spider-Man comics I ever read as a kid featured Mysterio, so I've always had a love for the character. The sketchbook I did this in was full of Spider-Man cast and villains by some awesome artists; it was cool to be part of it.

Brush pen and ballpoint with Pelikan Graphic White on paper. Approx. 11X14". And as it is with all of these convention pieces, this was taken from a digital camera photo, so the lines aren't as crisp as they should be, and the white details are just gone.

Always loved Mysterio, always got the best of Spider-Man's Spider Sense. Nice job man.

Thanks! He was one of my first favourite Spider-Man villains as well.

Very cool. I love the helmet fading to nothing and the hints of a face (though distorted) in it.

Thanks! I actually didn't do any kind of prelim for the "face" - it's just a very spontaneous scribble with the brush. But I think, much like the Man in the Moon, everyone sees SOMETHING emerging from the shapes.
