I've now begun to make my original art available for sale online at B3NN3TT.storenvy.com. Only a small percentage of my available drawings are there now, but I'm trying to add a few every week. If there's anything you don't see listed, but are interested in buying, send me a message and I'll see what I can do.

You didn't think you'd get rid of me that easily, did you?

Yep, I'm back at it again. This year's effort, after much thought and list-making, has come down to an early but persistent influence of mine - the art and film of Tim Burton. I hope you'll follow along on this little selective career retrospective from now through Halloween!

I'm also sharing these images daily on Twitter and Instagram - so you can follow along there if you like as well! And as usual, I'm planning to collect them all into a handsome print collection at the end - hopefully bigger and better this year than in years past. You can still order copies of my 2015 and 2016 Inktober collections through Amazon.com - all the details on those are below.

LET'S ROCK

The collection of my 2016 InkTober efforts is available now through the CreateSpace store, and through Amazon.com. List price is $9.95. I will also have copies with me for sale at all of my convention appearances, and your purchase will include a free quick sketch on the inside, as a bonus. So if you'd like to see all of these illustrations in a lovely collected format, instead of the camera-phone WIP shots I posted here, click on through and order a copy for yourself! Thanks.

I also have many of the original drawings available for sale from both 2015 and 2016. They will eventually find their way into my online store (more on that later) - but until that's ready, I'm offering them for sale at convention appearances and via email. They are $50 each, or 3 for $120. Contact me if there are any you're interested in buying, and I can let you know if they are still available.

PULP

The collection of my 2015 InkTober efforts is still available as a 36-page book simply titled "pulp". You can order it now through the CreateSpace store, and through Amazon. List price is $9.95.

SUMMER BREAK

Fri Jun 30, 2017, 11:48 AM

HEROES CON RECAP

Thanks to everyone who was able to stop by my table, and attend my panel, in Charlotte for Heroes Con - it was a terrific experience, and I'm planning to be back there again in 2018. I met a ton of people and did a ton of art that weekend, and had a great result with my benefit auction donation! If you've never been, I give Heroes Con my highest recommendation for a pure Comics experience, with none of the baggage that so many contemporary conventions have. I have several new drawings from Heroes that I'll be sharing here soon.

I have 2 more major conventions scheduled for this fall - Cincinnati Comic Expo in September, and Akron Comicon in November. Hit me up for advance commissions if you're coming to either one! Advance rates are lower, so it pays to get on the list early.

TWIN PEAKS

I hope all you fans are watching Twin Peaks: The Return on Showtime. It's a GIFT. Pure, hundred-proof, uncut DAVID LYNCH. An absolute dream.

INSTAGRAM

If you'd like to see a little more process work and real-time convention updates, be sure to follow @B3NN3TT on Instagram - you'll see things there a lot sooner than you see them here. Granted they are often a little more raw, but it lends itself to the small screen. It's much more spontaneous and insightful, I think, and complements my gallery here like a good supplement should.

Also, I'll be doing a rare PANEL appearance on Saturday at 11:00 in room 207A on HORROR ART, along with ALISON SAMPSON, PAUL AZACETA, and JAMES HARREN. Hopefully I have meaningful things to add to the conversation! If you're at Heroes on Saturday, come by and check it out!

I will have copies of both LET'S ROCK and PULP. at both of these conventions, and your purchase gets you a free personalized quick-sketch on the inside cover. MOTOR CITY COMICON

May 19-21 I'll be in Novi, MI for the annual Motor City Con. It's always a very busy show for me, so I take plenty of advance requests for commissions so I don't have to cap my list at the show. Plus, I'm able to spend a little more time on each piece beforehand, so you usually get a little better results. If you're going to attend, and would like to get on the list, let me know here! 9x12" ink drawings are $40, and 11x15" are $60. More characters or other variables are always negotiable.

HEROES CON

June 16-18 I'll be making a rare appearance at HEROES CON in Charlotte, NC. Advance commission requests are advised for this show! It was nice to meet some of you there a few years ago. Again, contact me here to get on the list in advance.

I will have copies of both LET'S ROCK and PULP: at both of these conventions, and your purchase gets you a free personalized quick-sketch on the inside cover. I'll also have copies of Do You Remember Rock 'N Roll Record Stores and Jim Shepard: Negotiate Nothing for sale, as well as a few other titles. Hope to see you there!

Hey everyone! Thanks for your support thus far. We have 12 days left in our Kickstarter campaign, and about $150 to go to meet the goal. If you like, please take a look at the offerings, and score a copy of all 3 issues - or some original art or music - for yourself!

STRANGE HORROR: Tales of Fright Beyond the Ordinary!

Strange Horror #1 is a 40 page, full color, mature readers comic with tales of fright beyond the ordinary: Welcome to Dunwich, Wounds, and The Devouring. You can get your hands on PDFs of issues #1, #2 and #3 — the first story arc for all three stories — through the Kickstarter. It's the first comic book Kickstarter with an Original Music Soundtrack level.

I completed the art for THE DEVOURING with writer Gary Scott Beatty. It's serialized throughout all 3 issues of "STRANGE HORROR" from Aazurn Publishing. Hit the Kickstarter to see lots of preview art, and order your own! There are also a few pages of my original art available, if you're inclined to own one for yourself.

INKTOBER 2016

Thanks everyone for all the likes, comments and support throughout the month of INKtober. The drawings themselves, along with my remaining 2015 drawings, will be up for sale through Storenvy once the book is complete, so if you're interested, watch this space for more information, or send me a note ahead of time to save me the listing hassle. I'm hoping to have it ready before the end of November. Now taking suggestions for 2017! :)

NEW COMICS

Earlier this year I provided some full-color art for an all-new story in Nix Comics Quarterly #9. It's written by comic-book know-it-all Christian Hoffer, with art and lettering by yours truly. It's available now at Nix Comics, and select retailers.

The newly-resurrected Caliber Comics has re-released my first installment of GHOST SONATA in the latest edition of CALIBER PRESENTS. It's available for order now. I'll also have my own artist feature section in Volume 4, coming soon; I'll provide a link when that one's available.

Mad Max Wasteland Weekend 2016

Mon Nov 14, 2016, 6:23 AM

MAD MAX WASTELAND WEEKEND

I'm proud to announce that I'll be part of the first ever MAD MAX WASTELAND WEEKEND celebration, coming up this Thanksgiving at the Gateway Film Center in Columbus, OH. Formerfactory and Upright Press are producing an exclusive limited-edition series of poster prints to accompany each of the 4 Mad Max films (Mad Max on Thursday the 24th; The Road Warrior on Friday the 25th; Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome on Saturday the 26th; and Mad Max: Fury Road on Sunday the 27th). The 3-color silkscreens will be available at the theatre, and online 30 days later through Formerfactory's BigCartel store. I'm hoping to be able to appear at the showing on Sunday to sign copies of my poster for Mad Max: Fury Road. I'll share the artwork here after Thanksgiving. If you're in the central Ohio area, don't miss this event! All films will be projected in honest-to-God 35mm, in one of the best theatres in the state.

As you may have seen, the print promotion was cancelled, but the films still screened as planned! Hopefully I'll be able to work on another at some point in the future.

COMICS!

Do You Remember Rock 'N' Roll Record Stores and Jim Shepard: Negotiate Nothing are now BACK IN STOCK at Nix Comics, and available to order! They are on sale for a limited time as well. If you missed out on those the first time around, you can fix that now!

I'm currently hard at work on a 3-part story for Aazurn Publishing's STRANGE HORROR called "The Devouring". It's written by Gary Scott Beatty; more details as I have them!

I'm also assembling a collected edition of my Inktober illustrations that I'll have available for sale at all convention appearances this year. So be on the lookout!

I just finished a 5-page sketchbook feature for the first issue of the newly-resurrected CALIBER PRESENTS with some old and some new doodles, drawings, sketches, and miscellany. It should be available to purchase by C2E2 in Chicago, so if you're there, drop by the Caliber Comics booth and pick one up!

As always, thanks for all the Favourites and comments and follows; they are all appreciated. Hope to meet some of you in person in 2016!

Updates for the season!

INKTOBER

I've been threatening to do this "inktober" thing for a long time, so I think this will be the year. You can see the early entries showing up in my gallery now. I've seen the "Drawloween" list going around, but I looked at than and said "you know... I would just get bored with that stuff". Since I was having a conversation with my wife yesterday about Pulp Fiction, I figured that a Tarantino theme would keep me interested, so every day in October will feature another QT favorite. I'm not really taking "requests" per se, but I do appreciate suggestions, and you might see it happen if it's something I haven't considered yet. So let's hear it! The plan is to make a chapbook available once the series is done; we'll see how it turns out!

Inktober #1 - Vincent Vega by B3NN3TT  Inktober #2 - Jules Winfield by B3NN3TT   Inktober #3 - Mrs. Mia Wallace by B3NN3TT   Inktober #4 - Marsellus Wallace by B3NN3TT   Inktober #5 - Butch Coolidge by B3NN3TT   Inktober #6 - Winston Wolf by B3NN3TT

I'm also posting them nightly on Instagram and Twitter, if you care to follow along there!

APPEARANCES

Only one in October - I'll be spending Halloween Comicfest at Hazel's Heroes and More. So all of you around northeast Ohio/western Pennsylvania and parts nearby, I would love to meet you! Hazel's is located at 1664 North Main Street, North Canton, Ohio, very close to Akron, Cleveland and Youngstown.

The following weekend, November 7-8, I'll be back at Akron Comicon - which I LOVE. Very friendly, very affordable, just a terrific convention that keeps getting better each time. Again, I encourage anyone in the area to check it out! I'll be doing quick free sketches and cheap commissions, and I'll have copies of my latest comic Jim Shepard: Negotiate Nothing.

NEGOTIATE NOTHING

Speaking of Jim Shepard, the book has been getting some good press. Here's a few articles:

Popshifter

Dagger Zine

In Your Eyes (in Italian)

You can purchase copies directly from me if you happen to catch me at one of my appearances, or you can order directly from Nix Comics.

COMICS PROJECTS FOR 2015:

Thanks to everyone who has bought, read, and/or reviewed "Do You Remember Rock 'N' Roll Record Stores". Ken, Bela and I put a lot of heart and soul into that book, and your support and feedback is appreciated. And because of that, we are developing a follow-up comic: "Jim Shepard: Negotiate Nothing". It's another Ohio indie-rock masterpiece penned by Bela, adapted by Ken, and illustrated by me, about Columbus rock legend Jim Shepard, lead singer of the seminal bands Vertical Slit and V3, who took his own life in 1998.

Art is underway, and our plan is to debut the book at SPACE in Columbus on July 17th!

More updates as they come!

Late last Sunday night I put the finishing touches on "Do You Remember Rock 'N' Roll Record Stores" and sent the pages off to production. This has been the first full-length comic project I've done in quite a long time, and it was really cool to be back at it again, telling stories, making marks. I'm really happy with the way it turned out, and can't wait for you all to see it.

The first Kickstarter copies will probably be shipping out in a week or so, along with the signed and numbered Ramones prints and original art pages. The first copies available to the public will be at SPACE: The Small Press & Alternative Comics Expo in Columbus on April 12 and 13. I'll be at the Nix Comics table on Sunday signing copies and prints of DYR, as well as copies of Nix Comics Quarterly #4 featuring the story "Eddie & Squid Contemplate the Great Beyond".

If you can't make it out to SPACE, you will soon be able to purchase copies directly through the Nix Comics web store, as well as many indie-friendly retail establishments around the country (see the Nix web store for a list of stores - maybe in your area).

What's next? Too soon to say. But here's my tentative convention appearance schedule for 2014:

Gem City Comicon, Dayton, OH, April 5-6

SPACE, Columbus, OH, April 12-13

Motor City Comicon, Novi, MI, May 16-18

Cincinnati Comic Expo, Cincinnati, OH, September 19-21

Kokomo-Con, Kokomo, IN, October 18

Ohio Comic Con, Columbus, OH, October 31-November 2

Akron Comicon, Akron, OH, November 8-9

Thanks to everyone who loves good comics - DYR was 100% FUNDED this past weekend, with a week to spare.

So if you haven't ordered your own copy yet, there's still time! Hit the link and make sure you get yours! It won't be distributed through ordinary channels, so this is the best method to secure a copy.
